2010 International Water Rescue Train-the-Trainer Academy
Lifesaving Resources Inc. (lifesaving.com) will conduct its 5th annual International Water Rescue Train-the-Trainer Academy, May 20 - 23, 2010 at Keene State College in Keene, New Hampshire. The purpose of this intensive 3.5-day Academy is to train Water Rescue Instructors who, upon successful completion of the Academy, will be authorized to conduct Water Rescue and Swiftwater Rescue Awareness, Operations, and Technician level courses on behalf of their sponsoring department.
The Academy will include over 32 hours of instruction beginning at 7 PM on Thursday evening, and continuing through 3 PM on Sunday. Instructor candidates will participate in classroom sessions, as well as in-water practical sessions conducted in a swimming pool, as well as in a moving water environment.
Instructor candidates must be in good physical condition, be competent swimmers, have the approval of their Chief Officer or Training Officer, and must have prior teaching experience. The Academy is specifically designed for Fire, Rescue, EMS, and Law Enforcement personnel, as well as Aquatic and Recreation Professionals, and Lifeguard Instructors and Supervisors. Lifesaving Resources' curriculums meet and exceed NFPA 1670 Standard for Technical Rescue.
