Memphis Pool is a family owned and operated swimmming pool and spa firm covering new construction, renovation, service, retail sales and e-commerce for residential and commercial customers. The business is based in Memphis, Tenn.

History
Memphis Pool began in 1952, as the need for specialty supplies and chemicals for public and private pools was growing. In the mid-60s, Roy Reed, while teaching high school chemistry, begins working with the firm for two years, then acquires it. Operating from home, he focuses on supplying chemicals, equipment and repair services for pools.
John McDaniel, current CEO, is hired in 1969, beginning an association that continues to this day. Three years later, the firm's Getwell retail location was constructed, and soon thereafter, separate service and construction/renovation departments are created.
In the 1990s, Roy Reed served as President of the Mid-South chapter of the APSP, Director on the National Board of APSP, and Board of Directors for the Master Pools Guild. The following year, Memphis Pool built a state-of-the-art pool for the Vesta home.
In 1993, Memphis Pool opened its Germantown retail store. Six years later, a third store was opened in Collierville to accommodate an increased demand in the growing area.
In early 2000, Memphis Pool constructed award-winning indoor/outdoor pools for the Millington and Olive Branch YMCAs.
Today, all of the Reed children and many of their grandchildren have received training in business as they join the family enterprise one by one.

In addition to residential and commercial pool and spa construction, three pool care centers offer a full-service product line, as well as a free 13-point water test that includes: Free Chlorine, Total Chlorine, pH, Calcium Hardness, Alkalinity, Stabilizer (Cyanuric Acid), Copper, Total Dissolved Solids, Salt (Salt Pools), Iron (If needed), Borate (Endure Pools), Phosphate (If needed) and Nitrate (If needed)
Memphis Pool also provides free pool care seminars and DIY clinics; an extensive pool parts inventory; a variety of chemicals; an online store that carries covers, automatic pool cleaners, salt pool systems, pool pumps, replacement motors, pool filters, pool heaters, chlorinators & feeders, cleaning & maintenance, pool safety products, aboveground supplies, games & toys, floats & inflatables, pool & patio accessories, swimwear & sports gear, ladders & handrails, lights & electrical, paint & repairs, plumbing, spa supplies and baptistries.
