Before launching his own remodeling firm, Ahern was the owner of Tyrone Discount Pool Supply Co., which had 15 employees when he sold the business to begin his current venture.
Ahern also served on the Pinellas County swimming pool board.
Political Career
Ahern is currently running for the Florida House of Representatives' District 51, which includes South Pasadena, Seminole and parts of St. Petersburg, Pinellas Park and Largo. The area comprises roughly 94,000 people who will have the opportunity to vote in the race Nov. 2. Ahern is on the ballot as a Republican. He has not run for office before, but did serve on his local Nuisance Abatement Board.
