Kent Williams
Kent Williams established the Professional Pool Operators of America (PPOA) based in Newcastle, Calif., in 1993 and is its current executive director. He also heads Kent Williams Consulting, which provides training and pool-related services to public pool owners and aquatic engineers and architects.

But his aquatics industry roots go back farther, to 1972. Over the years, Williams helped write the National Swimming Pool Foundation’s first Certified Pool Operators’ manual, and contributed to the rewriting of numerous state health codes.

Though PPOA is his pride and joy, Williams also finds time to work closely with the National Recreation and Park Association. In fact, he wrote NRPA’s Aquatic Facility Operator textbook and class. Not surprisingly, he teaches the AFO course around the nation, including at NRPA’s annual Aquatic Conference.

As if that weren’t enough, Williams speaks at other aquatics conferences and has written for various publications. He is also an Aquatics International Advisory Board member.
