History
Central Jersey Pools (aka Central Jersey Pools, Patio & More) was established in the early 1950s by David Metz. In the early 1960s, David’s son Martin finished college and chose to enter the family pool business. “We soon decided to relocate the growing business from Throckmorton Street in Freehold to our current location on Route 9 North in Freehold, and built the beautiful modern showroom that we still occupy today,” said Martin Metz.
In the 1980s, Martin’s oldest son Steven graduated college and joined Central Jersey Pools, where he had been working since he was eight years old. About a decade later, Martin’s youngest son Michael finished his education and also decided to join the family business. Today, Steven and Michael continue to run the company.

Central Jersey Pools has more than 25,000 square feet of showroom and warehouse space featuring three inground swimming pools, five aboveground pools with decks and fences, more than 45 spas and gazebos, saunas, a wide selection of outdoor and indoor casual furniture, a full line of pool tables, poker tables, bars, game-room supplies and video games, and more.
An 8,000-square-foot chemical room features the Bio-Guard line of pool and spa chemicals, a complete line of Central Jersey Pools chemicals, a computerized water testing laboratory, a full line of aftermarket accessories, and a huge selection of toys and games.
The pool and spa parts department is considered the largest in Central New Jersey, and an on-site warehouse stocks most items for immediate delivery.
The company operates a fleet of radio-dispatched vehicles and factory trained technicians who service all types of pools and spas and offer every type of service, from complete pool and spa renovations to weekly pool and spa maintenance.

Central Jersey Pools supports local community activities such as the Rotary Club, Exchange Club, Centra-State Hospital, Greater Monmouth County YMCA, local school teams, and local sports programs.
Steven Metz is a past trustee for the Brookdale Community College Foundation, a past trustee of the Western Monmouth Chamber of Commerce and an active counselor for the Service Core of Retired Executives (SCORE) of the Small Business Association.
Central Jersey Pools is a member of the Western Monmouth County Chamber of Commerce and the Better Business Bureau of Central Jersey.
In addition to local organizations, Central Jersey Pools is active or past members of APSP, NESPA, the National Council Casual Furniture Retailer’s Association, Pool Pro Alliance, Aquatech Corporation.
Central Jersey Pools has won numerous industry and association awards including Number One Foxxx Pool Builder in the World; it's been named Best Pool and Spa Company in Monmouth & Ocean County by readers of The Asbury Park Press and The Home News & Tribune on several occasions; and it's been recognized as an APSP Retailer of Excellence.
